Der Vorgänger Stadium wurde zum Boomkat Album des Jahres 2018 gekürt, nun veröffentlicht der New Yorker Percussionist und Komponist Eli Keszler sein neues Werk auf LuckyMe. Icons baut auf Fragmenten amerikanischer Abstraktion, traumhafter antiker Melodik, Industrial-Percussion, Jazz Age Film Noir und imperialem Verfall auf.
Als Artikulation des Verlustes und der Verwunderung, die unsere Ära definieren, nimmt die Musik nur schwer zu beschreibende Formen an. Keszler kollaborierte mit Oneohtrix Point Never (Uncut Gems OST), Laurel Halo, Kevin Beasley und Rashad Becker, seine Arbeiten wurden im Lincoln Centre, MoMA PS1, MIT List und The Barbican gezeigt, er schrieb den Score zu Dasha Nekrasovas Film The Scary of Sixty First, der dieses Jahr auf der Berlinale Premiere feierte.
