Die perfekte Kandidatin
Quasi über Nacht kündigte Courtney Barnett ihr neues Album »MTV Unplugged Live in Melbourne« an. 2020 gibt es den Longplayer endlich auf CD und Vinyl.
»MTV Unplugged Live in Melbourne« ist der Nachfolger von »Tell Me How You Really Feel« aus dem Jahr 2018, mit dem die australische Singer-Songwriterin und Gitarristin in ihrer Heimat bis auf Platz zwei, im UK bis auf die Neun kletterte.
Am 22. Oktober 2019 spielte Barnett das besondere Akustik-Konzert in ihrer Heimatstadt Melbourne im Hof der Kunstbar Howler.
Insgesamt acht Songs wurden für »MTV Unplugged Live in Melbourne« mitgeschnitten, darunter alte und neue Stücke wie »Depreston«, »Avant Gardener« und »Nameless, Faceless« sowie ein paar Cover, zum Beispiel von Leonard Cohens »So Long, Marianne«.
Mit »Depreston« gab es bereits einen ersten Vorgeschmack auf die Platte.
Und der zeigt: Courtney Barnett ist die perfekte Kandidatin für ein »MTV Unplugged«-Album. Ihre Songs sind beeindruckend vielseitig und auch im reduzierten Gewand absolut hörenswert.
