Nachdem er 1970 Quicksilver Messenger Service verlassen hatte, hat Gitarrist John Cipollina die Band Copperhead gegründet, um seine musikalische Vision zu verwirklichen. Da dieses Debütalbum der Band ihre einzige Veröffentlichung blieb (die Band löste sich danach auf), gilt es als ›verlorener Schatz‹ der zweiten Generation des Psychedelic Folkrocks aus San Francisco.
