The much awaited reissue of Billy Ocean's 5th album, 'Suddenly' that was to propel him to a greater level of success following its release in September 1984. The album includes the 4 hit singles "Loverboy", "Suddenly", "Mystery Lady" and "Caribbean Queen (No More Love On The Run)" that reached number 1 on the U. S. Billboard Hot 100 chart.
This 13 track CD features the 9 songs of the original album plus 4 bonus tracks, extended versions of "Caribbean Queen (No More Love On The Run)", "Mystery Lady", "Loverboy" and the 12" extra track "Lucky Man". The bonus tracks are appearing on CD for the first time in the UK excluding "Loverboy”.
The 'Suddenly' album has previously been released with two different front covers. Our version of the CD booklet will allow the buyer to choose which version of the front cover they wish to display, with a reversible booklet featuring both images. The CD booklet will feature extensive sleeve notes and a full UK discography with many images of the original sleeves.
'Suddenly' sold extensively around the globe, achieving gold status (100, 000+ copies) in the UK and double platinum (2, 000, 000+ copies) in the U. S.
Billy Ocean continues to perform live on a regular basis with dates booked in July in Ipswich (09 / 07), Holmfirth (21 / 07), Norwich (23 / 07) and appearances at the two 80's Festivals, Rewind Scotland (30 / 07) and Rewind Henley-on-Thames (20 / 08). Billy Ocean born Leslie Charles, moved to London from Trinidad and Tobago at the age of 8. He adopted the stage name of Billy Ocean from the Ocean Estate in East London. He released his first album 'Billy Ocean' in 1976 on GTO Records. This was to be the start of a long and successful career that still continues to this day. His popularity is highlighted by his appearance at the JFK Stadium for U. S. leg of Live Aid in 1985 performing "Caribbean Queen (No More Love On The Run)" and "Loverboy".
