Ein ganz besonderes Projekt
Beth Gibbons und das Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra präsentieren 2019 Henryk Góreckis »Sinfonie Nr. 3«.
Gemeinsam widmeten sich die Sopranistin und Sängerin von Portishead und das polnische Orchester unter der Leitung von Krzysztof Penderecki der legendären Sinfonie des berühmten polnischen Komponisten. Góreckis dritte Sinfonie trägt den Beinamen »Sinfonie der Klagelieder« (»Symphony Of Sorrowful Songs«) und ist sein mit Abstand berühmtestes Werk.
Das Konzert gibt es jetzt in Bild und Ton. Es handelt sich dabei um das erste Release von Beth Gibbons seit dem Portishead-Album »Third« aus dem Jahr 2008.
Die Aufführung, die diesem Mitschnitt zugrunde liegt, fand am 29. November 2014 im National Opera Grand Theatre in Warschau statt.
Beth Gibbons hatte sich zuvor intensiv auf das Konzert vorbereitet, lernte den ursprünglichen Text, und das, ohne vorher die polnische Sprache zu sprechen.
Das Ergebnis war eine mehr als beeindruckende Aufführung, die es jetzt endlich auf CD, LP und DVD gibt: Beth Gibbons und das Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra mit »Henryk Górecki: Sinfonie Nr. 3«.
