Im Jahr 2009 veröffentlichte die amerikanische Metalcore-Band Atreyu ihr fünftes Studioalbum "Congregation of the Damned". Für dieses Album kehrte die Band nach "Lead Sails Paper Anchor" (2007) zu ihren "Heavy Hardcore"-Wurzeln zurück, wollte aber auch "nach vorne gehen", was zu einem melodischeren Ansatz führte. Es wurde von Bob Marlette (Ozzy Osbourne, Airbourne) produziert und von Rich Costey (The Mars Volta, System of a Down) gemischt.
Drei Tracks wurden als Singles veröffentlicht: "Storm To Pass", "Lonely" und "Gallows". Das Album debütierte auf Platz 18 der Billboard 200 und verkaufte in der ersten Woche 26.000 Exemplare.
"Congregation of the Damned" ist in einer limitierten Auflage von 1500 einzeln nummerierten Exemplaren auf goldfarbenem Vinyl in einer Gatefold-Hülle und mit einer Beilage erhältlich. Diese Vinylausgabe enthält zum ersten Mal das Original-Artwork.
