Anaal Nathrakh ist eine britische Black-Metal-Band, die 1999 in Birmingham vom Multi-Instrumentalisten Mick Kenney und dem Sänger Dave Hunt gegründet wurde. Inspiriert von John Boormans Film »Excalibur« aus 1981, stammt ihr irischer Name aus »Merlin's Charm of Making« und bedeutet auf Deutsch Schlangenatem (anál nathrach).

Bereits 1999 nahmen sie zwei Demos auf, die später als Album veröffentlicht wurden. Insgesamt hat die Band zehn Studioalben, eine EP und ein Kompilationsalbum veröffentlicht. Anaal Nathrakh werden bis heute für ihre Vermischung von Elementen aus Grindcore, Black Metal, Death Metal, Industrial und anderen Genres gelobt.

2009 unterschrieb die Band einen Plattenvertrag bei Candlelight Records und veröffentlichte dort ihr fünftes Studioalbum »In the Constellation of the Black Widow«, sowie ihren sechsten Longplayer »Passion« im Jahr 2011 und ihr siebtes Album »Vanitas« in 2012.
