Mit über 23 Millionen verkauften Alben ist Alison Moyet eine der erfolgreichsten britischen Pop-, Jazz- und Blues-Sängerinnen und gilt seit jeher als Fixstern am Pop-Himmel.

Anfang der 80er Jahre startete die Britin ihre Karriere als Frontfrau von Yazoo – dem Pop-Duo, das sie zusammen mit dem ehemaligen Depeche Mode -Keyboarder Vince Clark bildete. Mit ihren ersten beiden Alben »Upstairs at Eric's« und »You and Me Both« schafften sie es sofort bis an die Spitze der britischen Charts.

1983 begann die Sängerin dann erfolgreich ihre Solokarriere. Mit dem Album »Alf«, das erstmals 1984 erschien, gelang der Britin der internationale Solo-Durchbruch. Nun veröffentlicht BMG eine Wiederauflage des Albums.
