Alina Baraz wurde in Cleveland, Ohio, als Tochter russischer Eltern geboren und beschäftigte sich ihr ganzes Leben lang mit Musik. Fast unmittelbar nach der Veröffentlichung ihrer ersten Single »Roses Dipped In Gold« zogen Baraz und ihre Familie nach Los Angeles, um ihre Karriere als Sängerin und Songwriterin zu verfolgen.
2015 veröffentlichte Baraz ihr Debüt »Urban Flora«. Das Album wurde vom Guardian, NPR, Huffington Post und Harpers Bazaar gelobt und erreichte Platz 2 der Billboards Top Dance/Electronic Albums-Charts. Im Januar 2017 veröffentlichte sie die Single »Electric« ft. Khalid, welche über 190 Millionen Mal gestreamt wurde. 2018 veröffentlichte sie »The Color Of You«, wo der Grammy nominierte Produzent Robin Hannibal (Kendrick Lamar, Calvin Harris, Cee Lo Green) mitgewirkt hat. Aus diesem Projekt entstand auch »Trust«, ihre erste Single Veröffentlichung im Jahr 2020.
