Bei den Grammy Awards 2010 wurde die Zac Brown Band zum "Newcomer des Jahres" gekürt und erreichten mit ihrem neuen Longplayer "You Get What You Give" Platz eins in den US-Album-Charts.
Die Zac Brown Band aus Georgia hat ihren lockeren Mix aus Country, Southern Rock mit einem Schuss Funk und Reggae seit 2002 in Hunderten von Auftritten perfektioniert und ihn in den 14 Songs dieses Albums zur Vollendung gebraucht. Als Gäste sind auf diesem Album unter anderen Jimmy Buffet, der bei dem Song “Knee Deep” mit seiner guten Stimme, die Zac Brown Band unterstützt zu hören.
Auch ihre Live-Songs “Who Knows”, “Whiskey’s Gone”, “Colder Weather” und “Make This Day”, die auf dem Live-Album “Pass The Jar” zu finden sind, gibt es hier alle in einer Studio-Version zu hören! Zwei weitere bekannte Songs, sind “Let It Go” und “Martin”, die auf der Deluxe Edition auf dem “The Foundation” Album schon in einer Live-Version zu hören waren. Der Song “Whiskey’s Gone”, ist übrigens aus dem Soundtrack von True Blood. Weiter interessante Songs sind die schönen Country Balladen “No Hurry”, “I Play The Road” und "Cold Hearted". Das “Who Knows” klingt wie nach einer sehr guten Mischung aus The Charlie Daniels Band, und den Allman Brothers, die wirklich bärenstark gelungen ist. Den Produzenten dieses Albums, Keith Stegall sollte man hier auch einmal Lobenswert erwähnen, der wirklich ein Meister seines Faches ist, was dieses Album beweist.
Nicht umsonst zählt Kid Rock die Zac Brown Band zu den besten Bands der letzten Jahre.
