Die Show wurde im Rahmen der TV-Serie „Rockpalast“ in der Essener Grugahalle gefilmt. Aufgenommen direkt im Anschluss an die Veröffentlichung ihres Albumklassikers „Deguello” (von dem 9 der 10 Songs stammen) zeigt die Show, weshalb der Gruppe vor ihrer Zeit mit Sequenzern und Synthesizern der Spitzname „Lil’ ol’ blues band from Texas” verliehen wurde.
Abgerundet wurde das Konzert vor allem mit Stücken von den Alben „Tres Hombres” beziehungsweise „Fandango!” und avancierte damit zu einer Art „Best Of ZZ Top Show“ der 70er Jahre.
