Omaha blues shouter Wynonie Harris became a national star in 1945 whilst with the Lucky Millinder Orchestra. He began recording for King in 1947, hitting with Good Rockin' Tonight and Bloodshot Eyes.
This CD gathers together his neglected (but still very fine and deserving to be heard) later recordings for King (made between 1952 and '57). Among the variously featured support are the saxes of Red Prysock, Hilton Jefferson and Count Hastings, the guitar of Kenny Burrell and the drums of Shadow Wilson.
