The Stylistics waren eine der bekanntesten Gesangsgruppen der 70er Jahre. Die beiden Alben "In Fashion" und "Love Spell" nahm das Quartett bestehend aus Russell Thompkins Jr., Airrion Love, Herb Murrell und James Smith in den Jahren 1978 und 1979 für Mercury Records auf. "In Fashion" und "Love Spell" wurden von Teddy Randazzo produziert, der durch seine Zusammenarbeit mit Little Anthony & The Imperials oder The Royalettes bekannt wurde. Das Booklet enthält Sleevenotes von David Cole (In The Basement). Beide Alben sind außerhalb Japans erstmalig auf CD erhältlich.

A 2-CD set by the super vocal group, THE STYLISTICS known for their run of 70s hits that began in 1972. This Soul Music. com Records release combines two rare albums that the quartet (Russell Thompkins Jr., Airrion Love, Herb Murrell and James Smith) recorded for Mercury Records in 1978 and 1979.

In Fashion and Love Spell were arranged and produced by the late Teddy Randazzo (best known for his 60s work with Little Anthony & The Imperials and The Royalettes and composer of classics such as Goin Out Of My Head and It ‘s Gonna Take A Miracle ). Randazzo wrote or co-wrote all of the tracks on In Fashion and seven of the tracks on 1979’s Love Spell, which also included songswritten by group members Russell Thompkins Jr. and Airrion Love.
