Im ersten Moment mag es so manchen Musikfan verblüfft haben, als sich Steve Martin und Edie Brickell letztes Jahr für das gemeinsame Album „Love Has Come For You“ als Songwriting-Gespann zusammentaten. Doch das außergewöhnliche Album erreichte die Spitze der Billboard Bluegrass-Charts und das Titelstück wurde Anfang 2014 mit dem Grammy für den besten American Roots Song ausgezeichnet.
Im Herbst 2013 taten sich beide für ein ganz besonderes Konzert im historischen Fox Performing Arts Center in Riverside/Kalifornien mit den Steep Canyon Rangers zusammen, die auch schon an der Einspielung von „Love Has Come For You“ mitgewirkt hatten. Der Auftritt wurde von Rounder Records aufgezeichnet und wird am 28. März 2014 in einer Deluxe-Ausgabe mit einer CD und einer DVD veröffentlicht werden.
Die Deluxe-Edition enthält ein gut zweistündiges Programm, bei dem Comedy und Musik Hand in Hand gingen. Ein Bonus für alle Steve-Martin-Musik-Fans sind die Aufnahmen von vier bislang unveröffentlichten Stücken: „Pretty Little One“, „Auden’s Train“, „The Dance At The Wedding“ und „Katie Mae“.
