While this 1971 fourth effort by the masters of British boogie blues may not yet mark the highest point in their career, it marks the true rite of passage from the psychedelic roads taken in their earliest albums to the commercially successful shift to boogie rock of the late Seventies. Dog of Two Head is also one of the most innovative and fresh albums of the era, with a terrific version of their stage classic "Gerdundula", and probably the most brilliant composition in the band's entire history, "Railroad". A classic album that paved Status Quo's road to musical Mt. Olympus.
