Spaceheads and Max Eastley's follow up to 2001's 'The Time Of The Ancient Astronaut'. Spaceheads are a unique duo of Andy Diagram's trumpet, played through electronics and looped with Richard Harrison's drums. Max Eastley is a veteran sound sculptor, artist, and musician. When with Spaceheads he plays The Arc, a self-invented monochord instrument made from wood and wire, which is scraped, bent and flexed into an orbit of amplified effects. Their live sets are totally improvised and form the basis of this new CD, recorded at two very different locations - one a shed in a remote village on the North Yorkshire moors, the other the site of a former leper colony an island off the south of France. It was on the way to the island that the Spaceheads sailed pass the infamous Chateau D'if, the setting for incarceration of Alexander Dumas' eponymous "Count de Monte Cristo". A reading of that classic novel inspired most of the titles on the CD. "Taste this, and the boundaries of possibility disappear; the fields of infinite space open to you, you advance free in heart, free in mind, into the boundless realms of unfettered reverie." (Dumas). "Fluid and precise trumpet meshes with deft rhythmic weavings.
