Mit ihrem Debüt-Album “Sophie Zelmani” wagte sich die schwedische Sängerin und Songwriterin 1996 gleich auf das internationale Parkett. In ihrer Heimat wurde sie kurz darauf als “Best Newcomer”, “Best Female Pop Singer” und “Best New Artist” nominiert. Ihr Song “Always You” gelangte bis auf Platz 1 der Radiocharts und verschaffte ihr rasch eine beachtliche Fangemeinde. Longplay Nr. 2 hieß "Precious Burden" und wurde 1998 veröffentlicht. Inzwischen ist die fragile Chanteuse einer der gefragtesten Acts Skandinaviens.
