Auf diesem 1994 erstmalig veröffentlichten Album von Snowy White, gibt sein alter Kumpel David Gilmour, der schon mit einigen großen Namen im Rockbusiness gespielt hat, seinen Gastauftritt.
Snowy arbeitet zusammen mit Gary Moore bei Thin Lizzy und war später bei Pink Floyd, bevor er mit dem Album „White Flames“ (welches mit Bonustracks ebenfalls bei Repertoire-Records re-released wird) seine Solo-Karriere startet. "Highway To The Sun" ist vollgepackt mit getragenen Blues-Performanes, wie man sie von dem jungen schüchternen Terence Charles White erwartet, der einst in den Sechzigern von der Isle Of Wight nach London kam und von Musikern wie Eric Clapton und Peter Green beeinflusst wurde.
In den Liner Notes des Albums spricht er über die 12 Songs und deren Entstehung dieses ausgezeichneten Albums, das ergreifende Songs wie "Can't Find Love", "Burning Love" und "Heartful Of Love beinhaltet und die diesem das gewisse musikalische Feuer geben. Nicht zuletzt durch die herausragende Leistung von David Gilmour auf "Love, Pain And Sorrow".
Einst gingen beide zur dunklen Seite des Mondes und nun sind sie auf der Autobahn zur Sonne.

Snowy White’s old pal Dave Gilmour makes a guest appearance on this 1994 classic by a lead guitarist who has played with some of the biggest names in rock.
Snowy worked alongside Gary Moore in Thin Lizzy in the Eighties and later played with Pink Floyd, before launching his solo career with ‘White Flames’ (an album also currently being re-issued by Repertoire). ‘Highway To The Sun’ is packed with the kind of sultry blues performances you would expect from Terence Charles White, the shy young man who first came to London from the Isle Of Wight in the Sixties, mesmerised by the likes of Eric Clapton and Peter Green.
He tells his story and talks about the dozen tracks on this excellent album in a new interview with Chris Welch for the extensive CD liner notes. Watch out for poignant numbers like ‘Can’t Find Love’, ‘Burning Love’ and ‘Heartful Of Love’. In fact, there is a whole lotta love burning throughout this album, including Dave Gilmour’s outstanding performance on ‘Love, Pain And Sorrow’.
