Sein Solodebüt als Pyrolator nahm Kurt Dahlke 1979 auf, kurz nachdem er die Band DAF verlassen hatte. Der Mitgründer des legendären deutschen Labels und Musikverlags Ata Tak schuf auf "Inland" kalte, urbane, beunruhigende Synthesizerklänge und Soundcollagen. "Inland" ist der musikalische Kommentar zu den von Paranoia und Gewalt geprägten späten 70er-Jahren in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland. Es ist bis heute eines der radikalsten, modernsten und unversöhnlichsten Alben. Schon das Cover illustriert die Atmosphäre der "bleiernen Zeit" im Jahre 1979 in der BRD auf treffliche Weise: Grau- und Brauntöne statt bunter 70er- Jahre-Seligkeit. Pyrolators Ziel war es, ein Protestalbum zu machen, und zwar eins weitab jeglicher Konventionen. Die völlige Abwesenheit von gewohnten musikalischen Strukturen und die unvermittelt auftauchenden Geräuschaufnahmen schaffen eine beklemmende, klaustrophobische Atmosphäre. Das Ganze klingt dabei allerdings so frisch, als wäre es heute entstanden.
Das Reissue enthält sechs Bonustracks, gemastert von Originalbändern.

Pyrolator is the co-founder of the legendary German label and publisher Ata Tak, was a member of various seminal post-punk bands such as D. A.F. and Der Plan and released solo albums under his artist name from 1979 onwards until today. His debut album "Inland" from 1979 features cold, urbane, disconcerting synthesizer sounds and aural collages, imbued with the post-punk / industrial zeitgeist as the seventies segued into the eighties. Yet sounding so fresh, it might have been recorded today.
