40 Jahre Nazareth. Die größten Hits der schottischen Rocker live. Der Durchbruch gelang Nazareth 1973 mit dem Album Razamanaz, produziert von Roger Glover von Deep Purple. Im darauffolgenden Jahr kam Loud'n'Proud. Es enthält eine Coverversion von Joni Mitchells This Flight Tonight, die sich zum internationalen Charthit entwickelte und in Deutschland Platz 1 der Verkaufsliste erreichte. 1974 erschien, ebenfalls von Roger Glover produziert, Rampant. Die nächsten Jahre waren wohl die produktivsten. Insbesondere die erfolgreiche Rockballade Love Hurts erlangte endlose Chartsplatzierungen und wurde zum Evergreen. 1975 wurde das Album Hair Of The Dog veröffentlicht. Hair Of The Dog, Expect No Mercy und No Mean City gelten als Bestandteil der New Wave of British Heavy Metal, die sich Ende der 70er aus dem traditionellen Hard Rock entwickelte und maßgeblich von Bands wie Judas Priest und Iron Maiden geprägt wurde.
