The Meters were New Orleans’ premier instrumental band during the late 60’s and much of the Seventies, playing on numerous sessions for legendary producer Allen Toussaint, including ones for Lee Dorsey and Betty Harris. This 70-minute compilation is the most comprehensive single volume compilation of the group to date.

The group were also a formidable recording outfit in their own right, scoring a string of significant hits for Toussaint’s Josie label between 1969 and 1971.

Includes all their biggest hits, including, ‘Sophisticated Cissy’, ‘Look-Ka Py Py’ and ‘Cissy Strut’, which featured prominently in the soundtrack of Quentin Tarantino’s blockbuster movie ‘Jackie Brown’. (charly. co. uk)
