Lynyrd Skynyrd (ausgesprochen 'Lĕh-'nérd 'Skin-'nérd) ist das 1973 veröffentlichte Debütalbum der amerikanischen Rockband Lynyrd Skynyrd. Einige der Songs des Albums gehören nach wie vor zu den bekanntesten der Band: "Gimme Three Steps", "Simple Man", "Tuesday's Gone" und "Free Bird", von denen der letzte der Band zu nationalem Ruhm verhalf.
Das Album wurde am 18. Dezember 1974 mit Gold und am 21. Juli 1987 von der RIAA mit Doppelplatin ausgezeichnet. Das Album erreichte 1975 mit 27 im Billboard 200 seine höchste Chart-Platzierung.
Released in 1973, Pronounced 'Lĕh-'Nérd 'Skin-'Nérd is the debut album of legendary pioneers of Southern Rock Lynyrd Skynyrd. They brought together all the best elements of Southern culture – Blues, Country, Garage Rock, Southern poetry – and created a gumbo of Southern sounds and flavors as none had done before. There are few debut albums that sounds as raw and determined as Pronounced does, and this is largely due to the hard, lean edge that Lynyrd Skynyrd bring to the music. The album features the songs ‘I Ain't the One’, ‘Gimme Three Steps’ and ‘Free Bird’, their famous rock anthem. Music On Vinyl is proud to present this album, which marks the birth of a great band that spawned an entire genre.
