Obwohl es nicht ganz an die schwindelerregenden kommerziellen Höhen von Hounds Of Love heranreichte, war The Sensual World ein mehr als würdiger Nachfolger, der den Maßstab für zukünftige Veröffentlichungen wie The Red Shoes von 1993 und Aerial von 2005 setzte.
