Product Information
Double Trouble is the fifth album by the British rock band Gillan, originally released in 1981, the heyday for the new wave of British Heavy Metal.
For many people including Ian Gillan himself it's the definitive Gillan album. Consisiting of some of the bands most effective songs and an overall consistency (sometimes lacking in previous albums) for which producer Steve Smith should take much of the credit.
Remastered from the original master tapes and pressed onto two 180g vinyl discs. The album is packaged in a newly designed gatefold sleeve. Each disc features brand new inner bags and sleeves notes are courtesy of the Deep Purple Appreciation Society (DPAS).
It is released faithful to the original release as a double album, the first disc containing studio material, and the second containing classic live recordings of many of their favourite tracks.
The album opens with a thunderous statement of intent, the chest beating beligerence of 'I'll Rip Your Spine Out'. It reached #12 in the UK charts. It is the first album to feature Janick Gers, since Bernie Tormé left the group...
