1971 war ein tumulthaftes aber auch erfolgreiches Jahr für die Chicagoer Blues-Legende Howlin' Wolf. Nach seinem zweiten Herzinfarkt und Nierenversagen hatte er mit seiner Gesundheit zu kämpfen, so dass die Ärzte striktes Auftrittsverbot erteilten, an das er sich jedoch nicht hielt und beim "Ann Arbor Blues Festival" auftrat. 1971 erschien auch dieses, sein zweites, experimentelles Album nach dem "Howlin' Wolf Album". Der Sound variiert zwischen Acid-Rock, Blues und Funk.
