‘Octopus’ was a smash hit album in America for Gentle Giant when it was first released in 1973. It is now judged a Prog classic by fans and critics around the world and an important addition to any serious rock CD collection. The
group features the talents of the Glasgow born Shulman brothers, Ray, Derek and Phil, who founded the group in 1969. As multi-instrumentalists, they enjoyed blending a variety of musical influences, and the eight diverse tracks on this ‘must have’ CD range from ‘The Advent Of Panurge’ to ‘The Boys In the Band’ - arrangements noted for their attractive vocal harmonies, wedded to bold symphonic rock sounds.
