DAVID BOWIEs letztes Konzert unter dem Namen seines Alter Egos "Ziggy Stardust" vom 3. Juli 1973 im Londoner "Hammersmith Odeon" gehört zu einer der legendärsten Shows seiner Rock-Karriere. Das Konzert wurde vom bekannten US-amerikanischen Dokumentarfilmer und Pionier der Direct Cinema Aktionskunst D. A. Pennebaker gefilmt und 1982 erstmalig als Film und Soundtrack veröffentlicht.

Von "Ziggy Stardust" und "Changes" bis hin zu "Space Oddity" sind zahlreiche unentbehrliche BOWIE-Klassiker dabei. Auch mit Cover-Versionen wie dem Rolling Stones-Hit "Let's Spend The Night Together" oder Lou Reed's "White Light, White Heat" und weniger bekannten Titeln wie "Wild Eyed Boy From Freecloud" zeigt BOWIE mit leisen und lauten Tönen seine musikalische Klasse.
