Bevor Green Day, Operation Ivy und Lookout Records die aufkeimende Punk-Szene der East Bay Area auf die Karte setzten, erfand ein Trio von Berkeley Kids das Genre neu mit Musik, die melodisch war, aber voller Feedback und ein Sänger, der wie er gurgelndes Glas klang. Crimpshrines Debüt EP war die vierte Veröffentlichung von Lookout, gefolgt von einem Album, einer zweiten EP und einer Reihe von Split-Singles und Compilation-Tracks, bevor die Band 1989 nach einer lächerlichen zweieinhalbmonatigen Tournee in einem Ford Pinto-Hecktürmodell implodierte. Zwei Sammlungen sind posthum aufgetaucht: »Duct Tape Suppe« (1992) und »The Sound Of A New World Being Born« (1998), die nun hier von Numero wiederveröffentlicht werden.
