Chris und Thomas wurden in ihrer gemeinsamen Zeit an der legendären Kunstschule in Liverpool enge Freunde, in der sich schon Lennon und McCartney Jahrzehnte zuvor verbündeten. Seit das Duo 2003 nach Los Angeles übersiedelte, machten sie sich in der lokalen Clubszene durch ihre heute besondere Art des Auftritts einen Namen. Beide versammeln sich in Carter-Family-Manier lediglich um ein Kondensatormikrofon, um ihre wunderbaren Harmonien mit sparsamer Instrumentierung vorzutragen.
