Das Konzeptalbum »That Lucky Old Sun« präsentierte er live bereits im letzten Jahr u. a. in der Londoner Royal Festival Hall und erhielt dafür glänzende Kritiken. »Die kreative Explosion«, wie Brian Wilson es nennt, ist eine grandiose Suite voller Harmonien und Melodien, in der alle Songs nahtlos ineinander übergreifen und teilweise durch narrative Überleitungen verbunden sind. Natürlich gibt es Beach Boys-Reminiszenzen (»Morning Beat«), aber er beschreitet durchaus auch musikalisches Neuland. »Mexican Girl« wirkt wie eine Latin-Humoreske, »Oxygen To The Brain« wie eine Big Band-Ode. Bis auf den kurzen Titelsong stammen alle Kompositionen sowie die Produktion von ihm.
