Die Platte hat mich 1972 förmlich umgehauen.

Sabbath bewiesen hier eindrucksvoll, dass man im Genre Heavy Rock, so hiess das damals, eine enorme Abwechslung bieten kann.
Das ist auf dieser Scheibe schon alleine durch die Instrumentierung
dokumentiert, die sich nicht auf Bass,Drums,Guitar reduziert, sondern auch Akustik-Gitarre sowie Keyboards enthält. Desweiteren sind die Kompositionen zwischen Ballade ("Changes"), Akustik-Instrumental und Heavy-Hymnen so einfallsreich wie nie zuvor.
Ein absolutes Meisterwerk.
