Ihren ersten Gig spielte Beth im Dezember 2006 im Head Of Steam in Newcastle. In ihrer Erinnerung durchraste sie 15 Songs in 12 Minuten, damals noch eine sehr folkige Inkarnation ihrer selbst, die nicht so recht zu der transzendenten Beth von heute passen will. "For at least two or three years it pissed me off when people said they liked my gigs because I knew it wasn't how I wanted to do it", hält Beth deshalb über ihre damaligen Auftritte fest.
Als Solo-Performerin sieht sie sich mit all den anderen Gitarre spielenden Mädchen in einen Topf geworfen. Ihr Debüt "Yours, Truly, Cellophane Nose" zeigt eine andere Beth; hier fusionieren Psychedelic, Rock, Indie und Singer / Songwriter Reminiszenzen auf einzigartige Weise und herausgekommen ist ein wunderbares Pop-Album!
