Ein Jahr nach ihrem auf 4AD erschienenen Debütalbum "In The Flat Field" wechselten Bauhaus das Label und veröffentlichten 1981 ihr zweites Album auf Beggar’s Banquet. Auf "Mask" entdeckt die Band um Peter Murphy neues musikalisches Terrain, erstmals sind Keyboards und akustische Gitarren zu hören.
Das Album enthält die Singles "The Passion Of Lovers" sowie "Kick In The Eye", die beide in die britischen Singlecharts kamen. Die Vinyledition erscheint mit einer CD.
