Gute zwei Jahre nach dem Major-Debütalbum "Infinite Arms", das der US-Formation Band Of Horses eine Grammy-Nominierung in der Kategorie "Best Alternative Album" beschert hatte, haben Ben Bridwell und Kollegen die Arbeiten an ihrem vierten Longplayer abgeschlossen - erscheinen wird "Mirage Rock" nun Mitte September.

Die Aufnahmen fanden in der Besetzung Ben Bridwell, Creighton Barrett, Ryan Monroe, Bill Reynolds und Tyler Ramsey im Sunset Sound Studio in Los Angeles unter der Regie der britischen Studio-Legende Glyn Johns statt, der in seiner Karriere u. a. mit den Beatles, The Who, den Rolling Stones und Led Zeppelin zusammengearbeitet hatte.

Mit "Infinite Arms" hatte die Band u. a. in den USA, Norwegen (Platz 2!), Schweden, Dänemark und Kanada die Top Ten bzw. Top 5 erreicht, in Deutschlang gelang erstmals der Sprung in die Album Charts. Die erste Single-Auskopplung aus "Mirage Rock", das insgesamt elf Songs enthält, trägt den Titel "Knock Knock".

The follow-up to 2010's Grammy-nominated "Infinite Arms", "Mirage Rock" is the first Band of Horses record to be produced by Glyn Johns, who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year in recognition of his work with The Beatles, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Led Zeppelin, The Faces, Eric Clapton and many others. Recorded at Sunset Sound in Los Angeles, "Mirage Rock" is arguably Band of Horses' most cohesive and accomplished set of compositions and performances to date.
