This classic prog-rock band was formed in 1970 by ex-Zombies’ keyboardist Rod Argent and bassist Chris White (in a co-producing and co-writing role) with guitarist / vocalist Russ Ballard and future Kinks rhythm section Jim Rodford and Bob Henrit.
These albums, the band’s fourth and fifth, originally released in 1973 and 1974, include the two hits, the classic “God Gave Rock And Roll To You” (later covered by Kiss for the film “Bill And Ted’s Bogus Journey”) and “It’s Only Money Part 2”. The package includes full annotation drawing on recent interviews with band members.
Russ Ballard left the band after “Nexus” for a solo career which ran parallel with an extremely successful songwriting career: Rainbow’s “Since You’ve Been Gone” and “I Surrender”, Hot Chocolate’s “So You Win Again” and many others.
