Despite their Punk roots Altered Images epitomise a period in UK pop that came at the start of the 80s. Punk, new wave, two-tone and a short-lived mod revival in the second half of the previous decade had all been rather serious so when Altered Images brand of fun-filled pop danced out of the nations radios it was akin to a breath of fresh air.
Visually they managed to convey a kind of bubblegum–chic, thanks to lead singer Claire Grogan and an initial barrage of brightly coloured picture sleeved singles and shirts! This selection features all of their hits and plenty more.
