Thematisch drehen sich die Songs, wie sollte man es anders erwarten, um Visionen um den Untergang von Regierungen, Nationen und schlussendlich aller Religionen. Dabei bringen A Storm Of Light die wuchtigen Rock-Elemente des Vorgängers ‘As The Valley Of Death Become Us, Our Silver Memories Fade‘ in die Aufnahmen zu ‘Nations To Flames’ ein, und beziehen sich auf ihre Einflüsse wie Killing Joke, Bad Brains, Metallica oder Crash Worship. Travis Kammeyer (OCOAI, Generation Of Vipers) produzierte, gemixt hat Matt Bayles (Isis, Soundgarden, Both, Mastodon) währen Brad Boatright (Sleep, From Ashes Rise, Nails) das Mastering übernommen hat.
