Christine ist freie Journalistin, aber Aufträge hat sie keine. Aus einer Not heraus nimmt sie einen Gelegenheitsjob an: sie verkauft Tickets in einem der unzähligen Sexkinos in der Nähe des New Yorker Times Square. Eines Tages kommt sie mit Louis ins Gespräch, einem gönnerhaften und etwas mysteriösen älteren Kunden, der regelmäßig das Kino besucht. Christine entwickelt eine seltsame Faszination für den gut gekleideten Geschäftsmann. Wie eine Voyeurin, aber ohne erotisches Interesse, beginnt sie, Louis‘ Lebensumstände auszukundschaften. Sie verfolgt ihn durch die Straßen von Manhattan und entdeckt, dass Louis in dubiose Machenschaften verwickelt ist…
