Die psychisch labile Angela Burrows leidet in ihrer noch jungen Ehe unter der Kontrollsucht und Sexbesessenheit ihres fast 20 Jahre älteren Ehemannes Jeff. Sie versorgt dessen neunjährige, schulpflichtige Tochter Maddie aus erster Ehe, flüchtet sich aber ansonsten in Tagträume. Als Jeff anfängt, seine sexuellen Fantasien auf Video festhalten zu wollen, verschlimmert sich ihr Zustand. Sie hat eigenartige Blackouts und beginnt regelmäßig Schlaf zu wandeln. Als sie dann noch mitgeteilt bekommt, dass sie schwanger ist, wendet sie sich in ihrem Wahn gegen Jeff und Maddie und schreckt dabei auch nicht vor brutaler Gewalt zurück! Wird Angela langsam wahnsinnig oder ist sie etwa das Opfer eines perfiden Psychoterrors...?
