The Blu-Ray was developed as a high-definition successor to the DVD and offers a significantly increased data rate and storage capacity compared to its predecessor. Blu-Rays can therefore store movies with significantly better resolution and offer enormously high picture quality on corresponding screens. Blu-Ray players are usually backward compatible with DVDs, so that they can also be played.

Fast zehn Jahre sind seit den Ereignissen in »Pulse 2« vergangen. Der Virus wütet immer noch und die kleine Justine, mittlerweile zum Teenager herangewachsen, lebt nun mit ihrer Pflegefamilie in einem Flüchtlingslager. Als sie in einem Auto einen alten Laptop findet, kann sie nicht widerstehen und sie loggt sich ins Internet ein. Online wartet bereits ein geheimnisvoller Fremder auf sie, der sich Adam nennt. Er will, dass Justine ihn besucht. Der einzige Haken: Sie muss zurück in ihre Heimatstadt. Justine macht sich auf den langen, gefährlichen Weg dorthin zurück, wo die Katastrophe begann.
