The Blu-Ray was developed as a high-definition successor to the DVD and offers a significantly increased data rate and storage capacity compared to its predecessor. Blu-Rays can therefore store movies with significantly better resolution and offer enormously high picture quality on corresponding screens. Blu-Ray players are usually backward compatible with DVDs, so that they can also be played.
DVDMost of the offered DVDs have the region code 2 for Europe and the PAL picture format. However, we also offer releases from the USA, which come on the market in NTSC format and with the country code 1. This is then indicated in our item details.

Ein namenloser Attentäter steigt mithilfe einer Taucherglocke in eine höllische Welt hinab, die von grauenhaften Kreaturen mit sadistischen Vorlieben bevölkert wird. Auf seiner Reise durch die Unterwelt muss er diverse Treppen, Falltüren und dunkle Schächte überwinden. Sein Ziel ist eine von einer Monstrosität beherrschte Stadt, in der er eine Bombe zünden soll. 30 Jahre arbeitete Phil Tippett an seinem Stop-Motion-Film, der mühelos die ohnehin weiten Grenzen des Genres sprengt. Dem Oscar-Preisträger und Spezialisten für Creature Design sowie Character Animation gelang ein tricktechnisches Kunstwerk von bizarrer Schönheit, dessen apokalyptische Bilder bisweilen wie eine Visualisierung von Dantes Inferno wirken. Bei den Kritikern löste sein hypnotischer Bilderrausch begeisterte Reaktionen aus - der handanimierte Horrortrip verbeugt sich vor Stop-Motion-Pionier Ray Harryhausen und zitiert neben Stanley Kubrick auch James Cameron.
