The Blu-Ray was developed as a high-definition successor to the DVD and offers a significantly increased data rate and storage capacity compared to its predecessor. Blu-Rays can therefore store movies with significantly better resolution and offer enormously high picture quality on corresponding screens. Blu-Ray players are usually backward compatible with DVDs, so that they can also be played.

Graf Zaroff lebt abgeschieden auf seiner Privatinsel. Seine größte Leidenschaft ist die Jagd und seine bevorzugte Beute ist der Mensch. Diese Erfahrung muss auch der Reiseschriftsteller und Großwildjäger Bob Rainsford machen. Er ist der einzige Überlebende des Schiffs, das vor der Insel Zaroffs auf ein Riff gelaufen ist. Graf Zaroff empfängt den Schiffbrüchigen freundlich und stellt ihn zwei weiteren Gästen vor. Im Verlauf des Abends wird Rainsford und den beiden anderen klar, dass sie die nächsten Opfer Zaroffs werden sollen. Er lässt ihnen allerdings eine Chance: Überleben sie die Nacht, sind sie frei. Eine grausame Jagd beginnt.
