As the successor to the Blu-ray Disc, the Ultra HD Blu-ray is an optical data storage device for movies in ultra-high definition format. The eponymous Ultra HD resolution is a maximum of 3840 × 2160 pixels. In contrast to its predecessor, it also supports a higher contrast range, a higher refresh rate and a larger color space. Normal Blu-ray players cannot play the new media. Ultra HD Blu-ray-capable devices are usually backward compatible.

Blu-Ray Disc

The Blu-Ray was developed as a high-definition successor to the DVD and offers a significantly increased data rate and storage capacity compared to its predecessor. Blu-Rays can therefore store movies with significantly better resolution and offer enormously high picture quality on corresponding screens. Blu-Ray players are usually backward compatible with DVDs, so that they can also be played.

Paris um 1900: Die »Les Apaches«, angeführt von Felix Léca, machen das Belleville-Viertel unsicher. Zu dieser Bande gehört auch Marie, wegen ihrer hochgetürmten blonden Haare meist nur »Goldhelm« gerufen. Als sie den aufrichtigen Tischler Georges, genannt Manda, kennenlernt und sich in ihn verliebt, reißt sie sich schnellstmöglich von ihrem selbsterklärten Freund Roland Dupuis los. Doch auch der Bandenchef Léca ist an Goldhelm interessiert und hetzt die beiden Widersacher gegeneinander auf. Infolgedessen entbrennt zwischen den Rivalen ein bitterer Kampf, der tödlich endet.

Aufgrund seiner klaren Struktur und feinfühligen Charakterzeichnung gilt GOLDHELM als Jacques Beckers definitives, stilistisch überragendes Meisterwerk. Simone Signoret beweist in der Titelrolle einmal mehr ihre herausragenden Fähigkeiten vor der Kamera. Mit Claude Dauphin und Serge Reggiani stehen nicht minder begabte Kollegen an ihrer Seite.
