Die Zombies sind los! Eine bunt zusammengewürfelte Schicksalsgemeinschaft stellt sich den Untoten entgegen. Inspiriert von Geroge A. Romeros gleichnamigen Kultfilm von 1985 schildert die TV-Serie die ersten 24 Stunden nach einer Zombie-Apokalypse. Dabei kommt es unvermeidlich zu einer Orgie aus Blut, Gedärm und jeder Menge schwarzem Humor. Maßgeblich verantwortlich für das Horror-Vergnügen zeichnet Regisseur Steve Konstanski. Der Kanadier hat mit Filmem wie The Void oder Psycho Goreman bereits sein Gespür für 80er-Jahre-Retro-Charme unter Beweis gestellt. Konstanski hat bereits angekündigt, dass es zahlreiche Verweise auf Romeros Vorlage geben wird, darunter ein Wiedersehen mit Captain Choke on 'em! Rhodes.
