American drama adaptation of Mart Crowley's Broadway play in which a group of men - one straight, the rest gay - assemble for a birthday party for their friend Harold (Leonard Frey).
When one of the men, Michael (Kenneth Nelson)'s straight friend Alan (Peter White) unexpectedly arrives after initially declining the invitation, he sets in motion a chain of events which leaves the men evaluating their friendships and realising their true loves.
