In einer Besserungsanstalt für schwer erziehbare Mädchen geht das Grauen um:
Ein wahnsinniger Mörder sorgt dafür, dass sich die Schulbänke leeren. Steckt Professor Olcott, der neue Lehrer, hinter diesen schändlichen Taten, hat er doch bereits einen Geisteskranken auf dem Gewissen? Und warum mordet der Wahnsinnige bei Vollmond? Während die Verdächtigen nach und nach auf niederträchtigste Weise dezimiert werden, offenbart sich langsam das ganze Ausmaß eines schier unfassbaren Schreckens.
Regisseur Paolo Heusch schuf nach einem Drehbuch von Viel- und Allesschreiber Ernesto Gastaldi einen prickelnden »Whodunit«-Reißer, der geschickt Krimi und Horror unter einen Hut bringt. Mit Carl Schell, Curt Lowens und Barbara Lass stehen gern gesehene Mimen aus der ewigen zweiten und dritten Reihe vor der Kamera, die sich in diesem im wahrsten Sinne pelzbesetzten Nervenzerrer mutig allen Widrigkeiten entgegenstellen.
