Kevin befindet sich in Brasilien, um geologische Ausgrabungen zu unternehmen. Nachdem er Ärger mit den Einheimischen hat, muss er fliehen. Er chartert, zusammen mit einer kleinen Touristengruppe, einem Fotografen, zwei Fotomodellen und einem ausgemusterten Söldner, ein Flugzeug, um zurück in die Zivilisation zu fliegen. Doch nach einer unerwarteten Notlandung im Amazonasgebiet muss die zusammengewürfelte Gruppe sich unzähligen Gefahren der grünen Hölle stellen. Krokodile, Piranhas und Treibsand erwarten sie. Als sie auch noch auf Kannibalen stoßen, stehen ihre Chancen, aus der verdammten Wildnis zu entkommen, eher schlecht.
