About the film

Um an die Macht zu kommen, ist den kriegerischen Wikinger-Brüdern Sligon (Udo Kier) und Thagnar (Thomas Kretschmann) jedes Mittel recht. Erst ermorden sie kaltblütig die Eltern von Eisenherz und dann bringen sie auch noch das sagenumwobene Schwert Excalibur in ihre Gewalt. Doch der tapfere Eisenherz (Stephen Moyer), Knappe auf König Arthus' Schloß Camelot, denkt gar nicht daran, den Wikingern kampflos das Feld zu überlassen. In der bezaubernden Prinzessin Ilene (Katherine Heigl) findet er bei seinen Heldentaten nicht nur Unterstützung, sondern schließlich auch seine große Liebe.
