About the film
Der rüstige Mittfünfziger Paul Winkelmann (Loriot) leitet das familieneigene Möbel- und Dekorationsgeschäft. Wirklich selbständig ist er allerdings nicht, da er nach wie vor bei seiner dominanten Mutter lebt. Als sich Paul das erste Mal in seinem Leben für eine andere Frau, die Psychologin Margarethe Tietze interessiert, sind weder Pauls Mutter noch Margarethes Eltern, von denen auch sie sich noch nicht komplett abgenabelt hat, von dieser Partnerschaft begeistert. Die bald daraufhin stattfindende Zusammenführung der Familien Tietze und Winkelmann führt nicht zum gewünschten Erfolg, sondern endet in einer gesellschaftlichen Katastrophe. Gerade noch rechtzeitig geling es Paul, das Steuer seines Lebens herumzuwerfen.Reviews
