Der nach einem Schwimmbad benannte Piscine Militor Patel, kurz Pi, wächst in Pondicherry, Indien, auf und muss - gerade als er sich verliebt hat - mit seiner Familie und ihrem Zoo, nach Montreal, Kanada, auswandern.
